Etobicoke-Lakeshore Businesses Should Look to New Fund to Expand in Ontario
Applications now open for the Regional Development Program’s Eastern and Southwestern Development Fund

ETOBICOKE – Etobicoke-Lakeshore – teeming with entrepreneurs who could expand their businesses across the province – have a new opportunity to do so, MPP Christine Hogarth announced today.
“The Regional Development Program takes a coordinated approach to supporting business growth in Eastern and Southwestern Ontario,” Hogarth explained.
“This program provides support to eligible small and medium-sized businesses investing in new training and equipment to expand their operations in these regions. I urge all such businesses in the riding to explore the possibilities.”
Hogarth added that eligible applicants may receive financial support and advisory services to help them navigate government programs, such as guidance on compliance approvals and assistance with skills and talent.
Business project eligibility requirements are as follows:
- have at least 3 years of operations/financial statements
- employ at least 10 people
- commit to creating at least five new jobs (or a 30 per cent increase for companies with fewer than 15 employees)
- invest at least $500,000 in a project
- be located in, or plan to locate in, a community in Eastern or Southwestern Ontario
