Ontario Providing Capital Funding to Non-Profit Organizations in Etobicoke-Lakeshore
Funding to support infrastructure repairs and upgrades to help deliver critical community programming

ETOBICOKE ― The Ontario government is providing 6 non-profit organizations in Etobicoke-Lakeshore with a total of $518,600 in funding through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Capital grant stream. This funding will help to ensure that our community has safe and ready access to critical programming, activities and spaces.
“I am pleased to share that six organizations in my riding have received the Capital Grant through OTF. These organizations play an important role in building a strong community through their advocacy and outreach. Congratulations MABELLEarts, A Greener Future, Furniture Bank, Second Harvest, Jean Augustine Centre for Young Women’s Empowerment, and Haven on the Queensway,” said Christine Hogarth MPP for Etobicoke-Lakeshore.“This support will enable these organizations to better serve the people of Etobicoke-Lakeshore and continue to make a positive difference.”
The OTF’s Capital grant stream helps to improve the infrastructure that Ontarians need to thrive. Whether it’s purchasing equipment, building a new space, or completing renovations, retrofits or repairs, these grants support projects that are having a positive impact in Etobicoke-Lakeshore.
“Non-profit organizations across Ontario deliver programming that makes a difference – whether it’s helping people train for new careers, learn new things, or simply connect with those around them,” said Neil Lumsden, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport. “That’s why capital grant support is so important. This funding will help ensure these spaces remain the heart of communities across our province.”
“The Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Capital Grant funding will give Haven on the Queensway workers and community clients a much stronger ability to access digital communications. Additionally, the privacy afforded by the use of an enclosed Office Pod will give clients improved security during their in-house visits,” said Heather Fullerton, Director of Development. “We are truly grateful for this fantastic support and look forward to seeing the improvements in action.”

Now more than ever, vulnerable communities need opportunities to connect in order to build the social capital they need to respond to the profound challenges they face including climate change, the housing crisis and increased isolation, said Leah Houston, Founder and Executive Director. “Thanks to OTF, MABELLEpark will be a place where low-income, racialized community members can connect, learn new skills and build relationships that turn strangers into neighbours and neighbours into friends.”
